What is Test And Balance?

Test and Balance is a term used to
describe the work neccessary to
achieve optimal comfort and to
minimize energy cost within the design
intent of the mechanical engineer in
the HVAC (heating, ventilating, air
conditioning) industry.

The complexity of modern building
design, control systems and
management has made it imperative
that there be standards implimented to
govern the Test and Balance industry.
NEBB, a non-profit organization, fills
the roll of training, qualifying and
policing a group of contractors whose
primary business is Test and Balance
of HVAC systems.

This elite group of contractors, of
which we are a member, never loses
sight of the fact that the building
owner and end user are the people for
whom we are working. It is their
comfort and the reduced energy costs
that have priority.

Test and Balance is
basically a
calibration process
that utilizes a wide
variety of
instruments to
evaluate an A/C
system's controls,
equipment, and
airside performance.

"T&B" can identify
and often rectify the
causes of high
operating costs,
Indoor Air Quality
problems and other
occupant
complaints.Test and
Balance can also be
used for providing
even temperature
control.

We have gone to
great effort and
expense to acquire
the knowledge,
equipment and
ability to be able to
provide
Computerized
Heating and Cooling
Analysis and Air
Testing and
Balancing services.

Across the country,
companies qualified
to perform these
services are paid
sizeable fees for
doing so. We include
these services with
every heating and
cooling installation
we do
Our Computerized
Heating and Cooling
Load Analysis
program uses the
Windows version of
the Air Conditioning
Contractors of
America's (ACCA's)
methods for load
calculation and duct
sizing.

Rather than assume
that your old
equipment is right
for your house, we
will size it according
to the above
national standards.

Before we remove
your old equipment,
we will come to your
home with our
laptop computer.

The information
going into the
computer will
include size of
rooms, ceiling
height, window size
and construction,
floor wall and roof
material, insulation,
sun exposure, and
weather data for this
area.

Our Computerized
Heating and Cooling
Load Analysis
program produces
reports that detail
proper equipment
sizes, and the
necessary airflow
needed to each
room of your home
to achieve the
desired heating and
cooling results.

At Tony's
We often find that
putting in smaller
equipment as
specified by the
program works
better and more
efficiently than the
larger equipment we
replace.

Most ductwork
systems that are
already installed in
homes do not
deliver properly
balanced airflow,
often resulting in
drafts and sizeable
temperature
variations from
room to room.

Here at Tony Kelly, you're not just a customer, and
we're not just another air conditioning company
